About Us

On April 1, 1983 Lee and Lona Earl opened Adventureland Video in the once vibrant 5-Points Mall. With only 190 VHS titles, 10 VCRs, and 600 square feet, they began their vision of enabling their community to bring the movie experience home. A few years later, they renamed the store to Top Hat Video and moved to a larger space within the mall.  A couple of locations later, we now have a permanent home in The Square @2600 in Bountiful. Our ever-growing selection now includes over 32,000 items for rent across multiple formats including Blu-Ray, DVD, and various video game systems. With Lee and Lona’s vision, and exceptional community support, Top Hat Video has become more than just a video store – it is an experience.
