About Us

On April 1, 1983, Lee and Lona Earl opened Adventureland Video in the vibrant 5-Points Mall. With only 190 VHS titles and 10 VCRs packed into 600 square feet, they set out to bring the movie theatre experience into the homes of everyone in the neighborhood. A few years later, they renamed the store to Top Hat Video and moved to a larger space within the mall. Now, Top Hat Video has a permanent home in Bountiful at The Square @2600. This eclectic, local hot-spot offers over 32,000 items for rent across multiple formats–including 4K, 3D, Blu-Ray, DVD, and various video game systems. With Lee and Lona’s vision, and exceptional community support, Top Hat Video has become more than just a video store with big dreams – it’s an experience.

New Arrivals out today 4/16!

Glass, PG13- I still can't believe M. Night Shyamalan made a whole movie out of the twist ending from "Split". Guess it was a better twist ending than the one from "The Happening".

The Kid Who Would Be King, PG- The film that dares to ask the question: "But what if King Arthur was a teenage boy in the 21st century?"

Replicas, PG13- Keanu Reeves stars as a scientist who becomes obsessed with bringing back his family members who died in a traffic accident. If that sounds familiar, it's because it's almost the same motivation the villain in "Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse" has.

The Adventures of Jurassic Pet, PG- Someone finally made a movie of my childhood dream: An adventurous teenager summons the courage to help a friendly dinosaur to escape from the clutches of a mad scientist that wants to use him for experiments.

New Arrivals out today 4/9!

Welcome to Marwen, PG13 - Michael Scott plays with dolls.

On the Basis of Sex, PG13 - The best superhero origin story we could have asked for: Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

A Dog's Way Home, PG - Basically "Homeward Bound" except with only one dog. Also, if you've seen the trailer, you know exactly how it ends.

Holmes and Watson, PG13 - A comedy so bad, there were reports of people walking out of the theater in droves! Is it true? Or was that just a lie to get people to go see it? Only one way to find out!

Berlin, I Love You, R - The latest in what I'm calling "The People Fall in Love in a City Cinematic Universe". You can also check out "Paris, je t'aime", "New York, I Love You", and "Rio, Eu Te Amo".

New arrivals out today 4/2!

Bumblebee, PG13 - Only the 6th Transformers movie that has been made in the last 12 years. I don't care how much you insist "Oh, this one is actually pretty good", I'm still not going to watch it. But you should, I hear it's pretty good.

Vice, R - The story of Dick Cheney. If you like Dick Cheney, it probably won't change your mind about him. If you don't like Dick Cheney, it probably won't change your mind about him.

The Mule, R - Based on a true story, Clint Eastwood stars as a 90-year-old drug mule who parties hard and fights against the Mexican cartels and the DEA.

The Man Who Killed Hitler and Then the Bigfoot, NR - 10/10 best movie title I've ever heard. Plus, that is the exact plot of the movie.

The Isle, NR - Not to be confused with 2005's "The Island". While this one is still a suspense/thriller, it also takes place in the 1800's and the villain is quite possibly a mythical siren.

Egg, NR - Yep, it's about pregnancy.

All of My Heart: The Wedding, TV-PG - It's finally here! The long awaited sequel to "All of My Heart" and "All of My Heart Inn Love"! Spoiler: in this one, they get married.

Love In Design, TV-G - Hannah returns to her hometown and must work with her ex-boyfriend, Jeff, to renovate a historical manor. What could possibly happen next?

New arrivals out today 3/26!

Aquaman, PG13 - There's an octopus that plays the drums. That sentence is the perfect representation of what this movie is.

Second Act, PG13 - Jennifer Lopez makes her triumphant return to romantic comedies . . . or that's what the youtube trailer told me.

If Beale Street Could Talk, R - A film by Barry Jenkins (who also directed "Moonlight"). Please note: Beale Street does not talk in this movie.

Stan and Ollie, PG - A biopic about the classic comedy duo, Laurel and Hardy. We do have a couple of Laurel and Hardy collections if you're looking to continue your binge.

King of Thieves, R - "Oceans Twelve" + "Red" - Bruce Willis + Michael Caine = this latest heist film.
