About Us

On April 1, 1983, Lee and Lona Earl opened Adventureland Video in the vibrant 5-Points Mall. With only 190 VHS titles and 10 VCRs packed into 600 square feet, they set out to bring the movie theatre experience into the homes of everyone in the neighborhood. A few years later, they renamed the store to Top Hat Video and moved to a larger space within the mall. Now, Top Hat Video has a permanent home in Bountiful at The Square @2600. This eclectic, local hot-spot offers over 32,000 items for rent across multiple formats–including 4K, 3D, Blu-Ray, DVD, and various video game systems. With Lee and Lona’s vision, and exceptional community support, Top Hat Video has become more than just a video store with big dreams – it’s an experience.

New Arrivals out Today 6/18!

Us, R - From the Director of Get Out, Jordan Peele, comes a film about a world where everyone has a secret evil twin, but no Goatees to tell them apart.

Wonder Park, PG - A child has an imaginary theme park until her mom gets sick. Then she finds out it's not imaginary, but being attacked by Chimpanzombies. Yeah. Chimpanzombies.

Hotel Mumbai, R - Amazingly not a sequel to Hotel Rwanda, Hotel California, or Hotel Transylvania. Instead, it's a biographical thriller about a chef and kitchen worker who protect a hotel against terrorists.

Beach Bum, R - Matthew McConaughey is High. Also he plays a high person in this movie about a high person trying to write a book.

Crypto, R - Farmers face off against their one true enemy, Hackers. An action thriller movie about Crypto Currency and not Krypto the Dog that has a very loose understanding of both.

Under the Silver Lake, NR - It's a Neo Noir Millenial Detective film. I'll just name things that exist in this movie and let you decide if you want to see it: Jesus and the Brides of Dracula, Homeless King, Dog Killer, Legend of Zelda map from an old Nintendo Power magazine, Owl Lady.

Slaughterhouse Rulez, R - Shawn of the Dead, but replace Zombies with Subterranian Monsters and whatever Simon Pegg and Nick Frost did in that film with a boarding school. You may be better off just watching Shawn of the Dead again.

Love at the Shore, NR - It's a Hallmark film with a Mom Novelist (Momelist?) who falls in love with a surfer, because he's good with kids, and that's what Momelists are into.

Hallmark Summer Nights Triple Feature, NR - 3 Hallmark Summer Love films. 2 with Rachael Leigh Cook. 1 basic plot that probably runs through each one. I really have no idea what makes these movies different. Except Rachel Leigh Cook. Because "She's All That."

Today's Summer Blockbuster Movie is Raiders of the Lost Ark! First seen on screen on June 12, 1981, audiences were thrilled by dashing intrepid archeologist Indiana Jones. In a race against time and evil, our hero must find and recover an ancient religious relic that is central to a power hungry band of Nazis bent on world domination. No big deal or anything...
